There is a lot of hype around this show and it is certainly worth all the buzz. The engaging series should continue on for a while longer it seems. The series follows the story of Ellie and Joel, who are struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by dangerous creatures. Both Joel and Ellie are set to explore and find a cure for the ongoing infection spread around this apocalyptic setting. Throughout the series, there are moments of action sequences that are both brutal and visceral. For sure, the series doesn’t shy away from its dark theme setting.

During this cinematic series, it tends to focus upon both love and loss along the way. The storyline is a typical lone wolf and his cub sort of speak. Two exceptional actors take on these roles and they do not disappoint. It is really neat to see these two working alongside one another. Off screen, they are the best of friends it seems. 

Many might recognize the leading actors Pedro Pascal (Joel Miller) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie Williams), both of whom claimed some fame from the Game of Thrones (2011-2019) on HBO series years earlier. Anna Torv also appears in the series who has previously starred on the Fox series Fringe (2008-2013) she portrays Theresa ‘Tess’ Servopoulos. Together, they must survive not only monsters but raiders and a fascist military organization known as FEDRA.

The show is not perfect but definitely worth a binge-watch, especially for fans of the video game franchise. Be prepared for an intense yet exciting experience. The Last of Us is an engaging masterful tale that is captured just right.
